[SPORT NEWS]West Brom eye Napoli striker Manolo Gabbiadini and make audacious bid for Sporting's William Carvalho.

West Bromwich Albion have made a move for Napoli striker Manolo Gabbiadini.

The 25-year-old is also a target for Wolfsburg and Southampton while Everton and Stoke have asked to be kept informed.

Wolfsburg were in pole position but have asked to take Gabbiadini on loan with a view to a £15million transfer in the summer while Albion, who also tried to sign him in August, would take him on a permanent deal in January.
Gabbiadini scored for Napoli against Sampdoria as they came from behind to win 2-1.

Manager Tony Pulis retains an outside hope that Saido Berahino will agree terms on a new contract though Stoke are pushing to sign him this month.

Pulis has also made an offer for Sporting Lisbon's Portugal international midfielder William Carvalho, who has a £38million buy out clause.

Albion have also asked about Everton midfielder James McCarthy, as have Aston Villa.
